Skidplate with toolbox for the EXC450/501 (2017-19) with quick release system
The new generation EXC450/501 come with a longer exhaust header pipe, which increases power but makes a skid plate with toolbox in the conventional place impossible. Assuming you want a decent size toolbox that is! That’s why we made a totally new concept, an industry first we believe, where the toolbox is mounted on the left hand side and there is room for a second tool pouch on the right. The tool pouch can be used for filters or a multi-tool or anything else you want easy access to. Both gear and brake levers are protected by the skid plate as well. The base of the skid plate is flat and smooth, ie no bolts protrude that can catch on rocks.
The new design also allows for a new quick release mounting system, which means removing the skid plate for servicing is now literally a 10 seconds job (and refitting is just as easy!).
